The Special Services Division administers the regional library serving West Virginia for the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled, a division of the Library of Congress. It provides direct library services to West Virginians who cannot utilize standard size print because of blindness, visual impairment, or disability.

We provide library service to any resident of the United States or American citizen living abroad who is unable to read or use regular print materials as a result of temporary or permanent visual or physical limitation. We mail thousands of free recorded books and the equipment needed to play them to patrons all across the state.
